You can see by the inset samples, this is essentially a layered contoured drawing with multiple shapes stacked up. It's very similar to my method of airbrushing with frisket masks - layer, upon layer.

It's no secret that I like cars. I mean, really, really like cars. Some are so iconic I put them on a bit of a pedestal. This is one of those cars. I was visiting my local racetrack one weekend, and Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) was hosting an event. I spied this Mk ii in Gulf livery and instantly fell in love. Since I couldn't stop dreaming about her, I decided to put pen-to-pixles. That's right, this illustration is 100% hand drawn in Adobe Illustrator. It's entirely vector-based, with zero bitmap.
